Christ’s bonds, Sincerely, President Carlton Spencer Nairobi, Kenya January 20, 1973 Dear Members of Elim’s Class of ’73: Sincerest greetings in the name of our Lord! These two weeks that I’ve been away from Elim have been fruitful ones, filled with evidences of the Spirit’s guidance—and the prayer support of all of you at home. Today is a full day: this morning conferring with leaders of the church of our Lord here in Kenya, and this afternoon and evening sharing in the dedication of a lovely new Bible School facility which will ac¬ commodate 75 young men! It is a day of rejoicing for the many who have helped to make this possible. Among them are Paul and Gloria Johansson, Elim grads and now on Elim staff, who first had the vision for it. We wish it were possible for them to be here for the occasion! I’ve been meditating on Paul’s exhortation to Timothy, “Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine; continue in them; for in doing this thfu shalt both save thyself and them thattfiear thee.” I Tim. 4:16. ‘aul says, in effect, that the acceptable workertmust first give intention to his own relation§hips, to his God and the out¬ growing relltipnship with his fellowmen.
