Oasis Staffers Coordinate Minds and Energies Some with little knowledge in making yearbooks, others with a great deal of past experience, and all with a rich experience in God — a group of twenty students joined together to produce the Oasis. They came together with the same vision: to portray a glimpse of God’s proc¬ ess of making leaders. It is this vision that kept them to¬ gether through the pressures of deadlines, publisher’s requirements, and the absolute necessity of clear com¬ munication. As the photographers cased the campus for exciting shots, the copy staff searched out information for their assignments. Each layout member carefully arranged his pages. Cooperating, giving, taking, brainstorming, laugh¬ ing, sighing — all kept producing with enthusiasm and determination as the editors encouraged them daily. Together the staff produced a record highlighting God’s preparation of leaders for His kingdom. The value of such a project was effected in shaping the staff into a working unit of the student body. Each worker knew what it was to be under authority and at the same time to exercise authority. As the group poured onto paper all of what God is molding into the lives here at Elim, they received a portion of that fashioning themselves. The vi¬ sion of the book is realized in provoking others to aspire to that leadership desired by God. TOP: Lou Fowler, Lay-out editor; Kathleen Lawrence, Copy editor.
