John Gimenez, converted in 1963, immediately became in¬ volved in the ministry, attending Elim Bible Institute at Lima, New York. Anne Gimenez, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, where she began her ministry some 20 years ago, has ministered extensively throughout the United States. While traveling through the Tidewater area, John and Anne were asked to hold services in a vacant church at 3101 Lens Avenue in Norfolk. From the first, God, mightily-blessed, filled the church. Thus was the Rock Church formed in October, 1968. During 1970, ground was broken in the Kempsville area of Vir¬ ginia Beach for the new church which was entered in May of 1971, debt-free. Rock Church doesn ' t have an active membership. It is run on the basis of fellowship. The church offers an inter-denominational plan of worship for those who seek to know God and come to worship Him fn spirit and truth. We are where we are today through faith. We invite you to join us in worship. Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
