Students' efforts express koinonia S tudents of EHS actively communicated their ideas through sharing and caring in an effort to make the 1976-1977 school year one of koinonia. Elida's baseball team finished regular season play with a record of eighteen wins and twelve losses. Boosted by the support of many caring students, it entered tourn- ament action with a new spirit, winning the first state trophy in Elida history. Tracksters also showed their ability to excel by sending six people to state, five of which were women. Elida's Cross Country team added to the year of Koinonia by defeating all other teams in sectional competition, placing third in the district meet, and qualifying their entire team for the state meet. Elida's runners placed fifteenth in AA state competition. Cheerleaders donated much of their time to learning routines for pep assem- blies and games. Many of their Thursday evenings were spent, along with other interested students, decorating the halls of the school building. Band members communicated their talents by placing first out of five bands in the Bluffton Parade. They also par- ticipated in the halftime festivities of the Bluffton College homecoming game. Students learned of the need to share, care, and communicate in order to ac- complish whatever their goals may be. 41: ir 4 Opening .N,,g,.,i ,..,,. . ,W an 9 -Q, f, .53 15.5 ' 415- 12. Q Q
