r. Class performs in 'Deadl Earnest' fThis is your last chance, Henry Gilcrest! Out the door! This order came from Julie Golding in the Junior Class Play, 'Deadly Ernestl Elida's juniors presented their play November 19 and 20 in the Elida Junior High Gym. Geary Hilleary assumed the lead role in the play, as an unsuccessful young man struggling to attain success and happi- ness. With three separate acts, the play provided both comedy and suspense for the audience. Several months of preparation went into the production of the play, beginning with the try-outs in mid-September. Under the direction of Miss Pam Grear, the cast members devoted much of their time concentrating on stage fundamentals and learning lines. Main cast members included Geary Hilleary, Julie Golding, Lisa Bowers, Chris Miller, Lynn Klingler, Deana Swartz, Lynda Francis, Nancy Lloyd, Tesa Brenneman, Doug Vandemark, Jack Tanguay, Dave Martz, Jim DeMoss, and Kenny Walters. MP Classes of '77, '78 tie for Sweepstakes S eniors and juniors divided first place honors in the Sweepstakes compe- tition, earning distinction of being the best classes of the 1976-1977 school year. Each class had two first and two second place finishings. Competition was based on four areas: carnival competition, participation in the annual magazine drive, school spirit and honor roll membership. Seniors captured first place honors for the magazine drive and carnival competi- tion, while the juniors placed a close second in these categories. Disspirited sophomores finished last in every aspect of the competition. In the school spirit competition cheer- leaders chose the juniors as the number one class. They based their decisions on the spirit and participation of each class at pep rallies and at the games. First quarter statistics found the juniors taking the lead in the honor roll contest, with 40 'Vo of the class averaging 3.00 or better on a 4.00 scale. Seniors placed second with a 31'7o average. Then came the freshmen with 21070, and finally the sophomores with 17070. REFLECTOR '77 wishes to congratu- late the senior and junior classes for their sharing and caring which made them number one in 1976-1977. TOP: Senior Mike Lugibihl and juniors Monica Guagenti and Gina Hagaman try to guess which class will win the sweepstakes trophy. Both classes shared first place. Student Life 25
