The Class of '49 ended its tenure within the hallowed halls of Elida High with an active and enjoyable senior year. Chosen to care for the executive duties of the class during its final year were William Weaver, Presidentg Charlotte Brenneman, Vice President, and Helen Miller, Secretary-Treasurer. To assist them intheir tasks, Alice Saw- miller, Don Desenberg, and Edna Holtzapple were chosen as the Executive Committee. The field of sports found a large number of seniors adding to the school's athletic laurels. Dick Kieswetter and Bill Holtzapple were chosen as co-cap- tains of, the Elida football team, which was runner-up in the Northwestern Conference . The Bulldog cagers, who emerged from the Allen County Bas- ketball Tournament as champions, were lecl by co-captain Milo Bastian and Glen Kilgore. Don Holtzapple was captain of the baseball team. Charlotte Brenneman and Stephen Crites were the negative speakers on the Iunior Town Meeting of the Air, held February 4. Seniors were active in the Lazy Moon Minstrel , given Ianuary 26. The proceeds helped in making this Annual possible. The Class of '49 was prominent in journalistic endeavors, with Charlotte Brenneman acting in the capacity of Editor-in-Chief of the Bulldog Review , and Mary Catherine Meier leading the editorial staff of the Annual.
