Sensor Actlvltles X On August 30, 19514, the class of 'SS finally became the proud possessors of the last two rows of desks in the assembly We celebrated this event by initiating the freshmen and rewarded their efforts by preparing a picnic in supper and taking them to a show that night. I 59 Y The next big event of the year was the day our senior x pictures were taken The proofs were greeted with suck 5' 'Ab '1 questions as, Can they change eyeballs? or Will they l ag, straighten that toothvn The proofs were sent back and we anxiously waited for the finished picture. When the pictures were made as glamorous as modern photography allows, we were satisfied, our only dis- appointment welng that they seemed to look too much like us! Despite the many activities of the year, we managed to V a hayride to which we invited the Clermont seniors Our last party, which everyone agreed was the best we'd ever , had, was a card party held in the hot lunch room W w played volley ball and various card games and had a lunch I 1 -1 . afterwards. The twenty five senlors present found that the best parties are the ones held at the school house. The next activity of the year was in the form of a sales campaign In order to defray the cost of the annual we sold greeting cards. The campaign was successful and proved to be SWL a good lesson in salesmanship. The editors for the annual had been elected and assignments were made. Everyone was busy wrlting, typing, cutting, and p sting to meet the oeacline and make the Sb annual the best ever,' On February 25 we went to West Union to Court Day which will be an annual event for nigh school seniors. The mock ' E, trial given by the Fayette County Bar Association involved ' A a fictitious auto damage suit with a jury composed of student Three hundred twenty five seniors from Fayette County were present. At this time our thoughts had turned to our class play and we were busy with tryouts and rehear als On March 25, we presented 'Turn Back The Clock, a comedy in three acts On April 23, the juniors present d us wlth a lov ly bancuet in the high school gym The theme and centez of attraction was the May Pole A sumptious feast was served in a garden setting decorated in past l colors. 'll There was much excitement in the air as we approached the 'f end of the year On May 13, we went to Iowa State College at Ames for Veisha and following this, plans were mxde for skip vu Our nirh school career was blought to a clos wlth two memorable events. On May 8, Baccalaurea e service were held at th Baptist Church. Reverend Vanderbeck delivered the sermon. The school picnlc was held May 20 and that evening Commencement exercises were held in the gym with Dr. Uugene Garbee as sneaker.
