C. Wilson, Fred Smith, Dr. Eugene Blair. The Board of Education for the District U-46 has the responsibility of controlling the third largest district in the state of Illinois. Providing equal educational oppor- 'T tunities for more than 26,000 students in the almost fifty individual schools on elementary, junior high, and senior high levels is a monumental undertaking, but the added i knowledge that this district is one of the fastest growing districts in the state and that our enrollments are mush- rooming means that more schools are going to be needed immediately. The Board of Education, under the leader- ship of its president, Mr. Ted Akemann, has regularly scheduled meetings several times monthly. But, the board ' meets many times to handle the emergency crisis which ' are so commonplace in schools as large as ours. New mem- bers elected to the 1972-73 Board were Mrs. Sandra Taenzer and Mr. E.
