No better indication of a communitvs sta- bility can be found than is evidenced by its school svstem. The citizens of Elgin can be justifiably proud of their system, the credit for which must go to an alert and dedicated Board of Education. With the awareness of the manv problems facing our expanding school enrollment. the Board of Education has been challenged to provide imaginative leadership. The past vear has seen the construction of a new iunior high school. three new grade schools, additions to two others. and research into the problem of enlargement of our present high school facilities or construction of a second school. This intelligent and able group of men and their predecessors are the people who have overseen the development of the HElgin High Tradition . and it is to these men we are indeed indebted. Page Es
