A Metropolitan Opera singer. a character impersonator, a tleep-sea tliver. antl a uieniher ol the llyrtl ,Xntarctic lixpeclition gave the stutlents a Iiirist varietl :intl interesting course of entertainments. The tratlitional school tlances were also staged successfully. .Xs the Council was ahle to sponsor a tlance at least once a month. tlancing increased in popularity among the untlerclassmen as well as the Seniors. Mathematics The mathematics department emphasizes the practical value of mathematics, its use in occupations, and its informational value: it also emphasizes the development of the individual student by the exercise of his reasoning powers, his power of concentration, his imagination, and self-reliance. In order to promote interest in this suhiect the Math- ematics Club was organized under the supervision of Miss Peters: this club has aroused great interest among the students.
