illIllllllllllllllllllllIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIllllllllllii IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIlllllIIIIIIIIIIIIIIlIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! For our cherished school song, Electra Alma Ma- ter, we are indebted to the band director, Mr. D. L. Sheldon. Predominant disrespect shown to the old school song was the leading factor in the composing of a new Alma Mater. Recalling the impressiveness of the rev- erent attitude of other school students toward their school song, Mr. Sheldon felt compelled to compose a song which would hold the esteem of the student body, and which would serve effectively as a heart-felt trib- utc to be paid the school. Mr. Sheldon dedicated an entire summer to the planning, composition and arrangement of a new school song. On September 20, he, with the accompani- ment of the high school band, formally presented Electra Alma Mater to the student body. It was immediately accepted with unanimous approval.' Too much praise cannot be given to Mr. Sheldon for this splendid composition for which each member of the high school is equally proud. MR. D. L.
