They then entered into the spirit of things by deciding xo prepare the football line-ups for the season and the best salesmen of the group engaged in an active cainpaign to enlist the support of the busine s firms in carrying on this plan. A victory in the Band Sweetheart Contest for Peggy Jo Morris, the Senior nominee, was the first outstanding publicity which the Seniors received. A successful banquet for the 1940 Tim-r squad on January 17 was a milestone in the accomplishments of the class. The month of March brought a banquet from the Woman's Missionary Society of the Baptist Church. On Marci 8 the Seniors took an active part in making the Junior Carnival a success and supported their candidate, Betty Zoe Cunninlrham, in the nueen's race to win second place. A delightful banquet from the Lions Club on M-arch 28 closed a pleasant and long-to-be remembered March. The.l0hK ayvaited formal social function of the year was the Junior-Senior banquet. The Juniors very graciously fotcd the Seniors on April 17, and the evening was climaxed hy other entertainment of a gay and pleasant nature. Hidden talent in lf. H. S. was revealed in the Faculty Program sponsored by the Senior Class. The parade of dra- matic ability exhibited was highly acclaimed and rated worth nngch more than thc dimes assessed. Horrible screams -if fear :ind terrible moans of pain came from the auditorium each afternoon as the members of the play cast workt-l hard to make the Senior Play, Hob- goblin House 21 dramativ success. The cast perfrrmed well in providing enough chills and thrills for a life time. Q One week stuffed full of fun and pleasure is in store for the graduating students. They will participate in many forms of entertainment during the last seven days of their high school careers. Baccalauiete services on May 25 begin the official graduatinz exercises. On the calendar cf every time-con- scious Senior, May 28 is encircled as the day. This is the lonff awaited day when anxious Seniors receive diplomas and bid lust farewells to classmate-1 who have shared four pleasant and profitable years in E. H. S.
