Ve were glad when we arr'ved at Baltimore so that we could StTSUjl our legs Ne waited outside the station for o1r bus which was to take us o Annapolis and then on to Jashington Our bus was the la t one to show up and we were get ing worr'ed for we thought they might have forgotten us Steve, our bus driver, made a hit w tk us right away, and he helped make our trip interesting and enjoyable Our flrst stop was Annapolls, and the girls did pretty well for themselves The midshipmen even posed for us It is a beautiful place as well as very interesting May we say while we were there it was the only time the sun shone We got hack on the bus and started on to Nashington We arrived at the hotel a nour and a half later to start on our adventure v washed up and went down to the dining room for dinner We all felt a great deal better after eating After dinner we went out on tour and we visited first the Lincoln Memorial which greatly impres es us Secondly, we visited the Con gre sional Llbrary and viewed some famous documents such as our Dec laration of Independence and the Bill of Rlghts which make our coun try the grand place it is After this tour we went back to the hotel to go to sleep Some of us went out to buy postcards to send to the folks back home We even had our midnight snacks, and so back to the hotel to sleep Sleep? Well, who wanted to sleep, anyway We just got in bed Oh well' another day ahead of us, and we'll catch up on our sleep tonight The second day we v1s'ted the Bureau of Printlng and Engraving, and saw how money, postage and government documents are printed and engraved Ve visited here on the wrong day as they told us they weren't giving away samples today After this we pas ed such places as the Dept of Co.merce, Dept of Justice and the kational Archives buildings of the Capitol Ne al so had a group picture taken or our class with the Capitol in the background Also in the morning we visited the House of Represents tives and Senate We wanted to set in on a session, but we were there a little too early After this we visisted the Supreme 'ourt Back to the hotel to wash up, eat a hurried lunch, and get back into the bus to start out on our afternoon tour We toured the resi dential section of Washington and passed the homes of the late Pres idents Wilson and Taft, Admiral Dewey, and other famous mer and the foreign embasseis After thls we stopped at the zoo to see mammoth exhiblt of wild animals and birds From here we started to Arlington Cemetery and en route we saw Georgetown Un versity and the Pentagon Building We sav the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and sorry to say we weren't able to see the very impres 1ve changing of the guard Later in the afternoon we went to Nt Vernon to see the home and tomb of Washington, slave quarters, kitchen and formal flower garden Thls vas our last stop, so back to the hotel to wash and dress as tonight we were attend ng the Casino Royal, which is a night club in Washington At the night club some of us had Chine e food and some American A floor show was also presented which we all enjoyed Thursday morning found us in the same predicament. By this time our theme song was nOh! How I Hate To Get Up In The Morning.n We started off the morning by visiting the Smithsonian Institute where we saw many interesting collections. One thing that interested the girls very much were the gowns worn by each Presidents wife at his inauguration. After we left the Institute, our next stop was the Washington Monument.
