We had some fine talent there, and the folks out in the audience really en joyed it By this year we were well in the swing of things, and life was progressing very happily for the 'Saucy Sophs ' JUNIOR YEAR Our Junior year held a lot in store for us, and we were very hap py and excited when we congregated in Room 8 This year we were glad to welcome Miss Moberg, a new teacher at E C S , as our new class advisor Dorothy Quick, Mickey McCann, and Eugene Wilson left us, and our class started to decrease Ne elected George Fisher as our Class President, Shirley Myers, Secretary Alberta Brodmerkel, Vice President, and Doris Haas, Treas urer One of the biggest thrills of being a Junior is to know that we get our class rings We waited for the ring salesman to come and fi nally when November came around so did he, loaded with boxes of rings for us to choose from We finally decided on the style of rings we wanted, and after much confusion we changed the regular emblem of the After we ordered our rings, we waited for them to come and on St Valent1ne's Day they arrived Were we ever happy! Everybody 1 school knew they were here, because we showed them off to everyone We sat in our classes and polished and polished them They were worth a million dollars to us, and they still fre Our class dance nThe Fool's Balln proved to be another success We presented another skit, and it again was enjoyed by all We also presented a movie this year 'The Kid from Cleveland From this we raised some money for our Senior trip to Washington, We, being an ambitious class also put on a card party We were very happy to see so many people turn out The prizes were generously donated by our store merchants from Barryville, Eldred, and Yulan Finally our long awaited Junior Prom came into view We worked all day decorating as we had always bragged about how nice our prom would be, and sure enough it turned out to be one of the nicest proms ever given We thought the gym looked wonderful Shirley Paulus, the ex Prom Queen crowned Dorothy Brodmerkel as the new Prom Queen, and Henry Dieckhoff as the new king We took a picture of the new king and queen, and the Junior and Senior girls acted as attendants Everyone had a wonderful time 3 ' ' ' E.
