DECEMBER - Game with Carrier Mills, - 'Little women, a favorite, was brought to life by our Thespians - Game with Johnston City. - Basketball game with Mcheansboro. - Christmas vacation. Glee Club gave program. JANUARY - School resumed. - Game with Johnston City. Football letters awarded before as- sembly, - 15 - 16 - THE Days. Exams. Sleep? who Slept? - Game with West Frankfort. - Polio candidates elected. Lost two teachers: Mrs. Bishop and Mrs. O'Brien. Gained two teachers: Mrs. Arensman and Miss Abney. - 25 - Saline County Toumament. Played here. - Reverend Eddie Hatfield spoke to us today. His subject was You ARE Important. - 31 - Games with Norris City and Carmi, FEBRUARY - Shots. Roll up yer sleeve, Sonny. - W.C.T.U. Essay Contest winners announced. - Today we voted for Homecoming Queen. - Game with Benton. - We were sorry to lose Mrs. English. Mrs. Fowler is the new of- fice helper. - College Day for Seniors at Harrisburg. Do you feel like grown- ups, or maybe growin'-ups ? - Reverend James Johnsen spoke to us. - Basketball game with Carrier Mills. We wonl I 1 - Junior Class Play, The Skeleton Walks. Rose Miller crowned Basketball Queen, MARCH Today we were happy to have the SIU Choir. 12 - 13 - The Sectional Tournament. In our gym! - Charles King was our guest today. Program sponsored by Student C ouncil. - We were addressed by Ministers. APRIL Today was Career Day, Guest speaker. Tests were given to eighth graders in Study Hall, Wonder why they seem shy - could we be Upperclassmen ? The Hob-Nob. Step right up, folks, and see the world's greatest Peanuts, Popcorn, MAY The Long Awaited Prom. The big night. Thank you, Juniors, for a lovely evening. The Thespian initiation and installation of new officers. Baccalaureate Service. 26 - 27 - The End! Final exams, Graduation. This is it, Seniors.

AUGUST - Another yearl Doesn 't time fly? We have four new teachers - Mr. Kingston, Mr. Phares. Mr. Posey. and Mr. Hausser. Class officers and sponsors were elected. SEPTEMBER - The Annual F.F.A. Livestock Show. - Magazine sales began today with a pep-talk to the student body. Cheerleaders elected. - Football season started with a BANG today - a new pep-parade' and a pep meeting. - B-squad game, - Magazine sales ended today. High salesman was Ralph Gass. Freshman Student Council electiong Lonnie Cochran, Carletta Gibson, Don Ferrell, Rita Towle elected. - Home game with McLeansboro. - Mrs. Wood, a nurse from Saint Mary 's School of Nursing, spoke to girls about a nursing career. - Yearbook sales began. E.T.H.S. is the best! Beat Harrisburg. OCTOBER - Clubs were organized and officers elected. - Ballgame with Johnston City, - Homecoming Queen election today. - Game with Norris City. The first issue of the school newspaper. Another first - a bonfire and snake-dance, Senior Class Play, Murder Takes the Veil. Whodunit? Home- coming Coronation, and a Queen to be proud of, Miss Linda Flan- nigan, Game with West Frankfort. No school today, Teacher's Meeting. Reverend Joe Estes spoke to the student body. The W.C.T.U. sponsored a movie. Reverend Ferrell Jenkins addressed us. Game with Christopher. Mr. Dellavaus told us about Good Manners. Schoo1's out - Teacher's Meeting. Game with Benton. NOVEMBER School election held by the Civics classes. Mr. Blewette took names for Senior name cards. Game with Metropolis, School entertained with G.A. A. hockey game. No school today, Another Teacher's Meeting, Game with Princeton, Kentucky. Basketball season opened with Marion. Members of Champaign, Julia F. Burnham School of Nursing spoke to girls.
