fl? Le Cercle Francais is an organization of approxi- mately one hundred members. All present and former French students are eligible for member- ship. Its purpose is to create interest in French culture and language through educational pro- grams and guest speakers. The activities of the club are divided into three groups. The philanthropic group included the participation in the annual civic Christmas pro- gram, Among the educational activities is our membership in the Societe Honoraire de Francaise. The publicity this year included a personal ap- pearance on television of the members of the Societe Honoraire de Francaise, The club re- porter submitted a thesis to the French Review, the official publication of the A,A.T.F. Mr. Robert Duckworth, farm machinery mechanic, is showing Jim Wintizer, Howard Plunkett, and Marion Grisham how to determine cylinder wear. Mr. Don Wallace, soil specialist from the State Agriculture Department, explains to the Soil and Fertilizer class how soil usage can affect crop yields on our timber soils. Mr. Bishop looks over a feeding parlor for confined feeding operations on the farm of Mr. F. E. Bramlet. This facility offers better parasitical control, lower feeding cost, and minimum labor requirements,

GATES A Committee Meeting 1 . , The Future Homemakers of America is an organization restricted to girls who have had or are taking home economics. The organization trains each member for home, school, and community activities. It helps members understand the opportunities open to them in the field of home economics. Members are also taught to understand their neighbors. A few outstanding programs we had this year were a style show, a cooking demonstration, a Mother and Daughter Tea, and the House of Delegates meeting. Some of our projects were a hot dog stand at football games and a coat check stand in the gym, 73
