CALENDAR 1951-52 Back to school! Who wants to stay home anyway? Welcome, Miss Poulos and Mr. Knoop! Here's that man again! Mr. Pierson is here to start off the annual magazine sales with a bang! After electing their vocal chords for the year, the student body let out with some peppy yells. The owners of the strongest lungs are Teny Hill, June and Joan Steinbrook, and Mable Briddick. We're off to a good start in football by defeating Anna- Jonesboro 21 to 6. Whot's this? Is everybody crazy? lt's just the F.H.A. having a backward party. Clubs organized today. What are all the Ho-bos doing at school? Oh! lt's F.H.A. initiation-the poor green freshmen! Oh, woeful day! Harrisburg trounced us 19-8. Eaglets lost to Harrisburg Bullpups 13-O. We bowed our heads in silent prayer for three Eldorado students today. Jackie Harrelson, Patsy and Johnny Pritchett were killed Sunday night. Eagles lost to Metropolis 24-13. Since when do Seniors dress-up for school? No wonder-pictures are being made. Each class elected its officers and sponsors today. Sec- ond team defeated Johnston City 26-20. Murphysboro ball game. We lost 34-6. Second team lost to Carmi 19-O. Watch our new score board shine on the football field. Faculty pictures taken for annual. Smile, Mr. Knoop! Rada sure has a losing streak. This time it's Chris- topher 18-13. Second team tied Christopher 13-13. Underclassmen pictures taken. Watch the birdie!! Betty Beyer came to entertain. Oh! that awful fly! The teachers are all gone to teachers meeting today. Therefore we can't go to school. That makes us all very sad. We tied Olney in football 13-13. Get your wallets Hi-Y and Iet's go to the F.H.A. Box Supper. A queen will reign. Candidates are Connie Kreuter, Teny Hill, Veva Nell Sutton, Shirley Sutton and Joan Long. Another loss in football. Cairo 22-20. Such a scare all those ghosts gave us, but it was only the G.A.A, Hallowe'en Party. Well, we even see previews at school these days. Men Are Like Streetcarsf' Truer words were never spoken than those in the title of the Junior Play Men Are Like Streetcarsf' After- wards our football queen was crowned in an im- pressive ceremony by co-captains Bob Briddick and D. A. Phelps. The Queen . . . lovely Connie Kreuter. Where's all the fans? Gee, it's cold at the ballgame but we beat Marion 41-19. Darned snow kept us from having our Homecoming Parade which was go- ing to be the best ever. Gym was beautifully deco- rated for the dance. Second team ballgame with Marion which Eaglets won 13-0. Hurrah! Lost again to Carmi 26-20. Campus Caravan was held at our school. A radio program with all students participating. Oh Boy!
