We, the Senior Class of Eldon High School, do hereby will our rights and properties to wit. We will our good spirit to the teachers of E.H.S. that they might instill it in the students. To the Juniors we will our seats in Senior row. (Also the gum under them.) To the Sophomores goes our ability to b quiet in study halls and keep out of trouble. To the Freshmen we leave the fun which we have had. Jack Beghtol leaves his ability to roll a car to Adrian Morton, also his freckles to Carol Sue Finney. Wilfred Boettcher wills his height to Norman Tweed, and the size of his feet to Albert Myers. Bob Burns leaves his ability to get along without women to Adrian Morton. (He needs it badly.) Janice Chickering wills her ability to raise a family to Sonja Jobe. Marvin Creech leaves his ability to get along with Bonnie to Richard Hemm. James Earhart wills his ability to get into trouble to George Edgerly. LaVerne Fite leaves his height to Norman Tweed. Bonnie Hemm wills her ability to get two words a minute in shorthand to Patty Rogers, also her blonde hair to Mary Ann Ward. Kaye Hogue leaves her ability to play the piano to Addis Laughlin???? Howard Lyons wills his ability to loaf in study halls to Delbert Shaw. Carolyn leaves her ability to keep a man to Pat Henderson. Patty Morrow wills her gift of gab to James Fromi. (We’re glad she got rid of it.) Patty Noel leaves her tallness and ability to play pivot to Janet Burkholder. Norman Penrod wills his ability to blow his nose to Marcia Potts, also his ability to rebound to Gary Fane. Melvin Ploss leaves his intelligence and leadership to James Fromi. Ralph Saner wills his ability to drive a Ford to Ronnie Morrison. Victor Sels leaves his ability to get along with girls to David Steele. Joan Staton wills her ability to get up at 9 d'clock and still avoid a report to Sandra Teeter. Barbara Thompson leaves her cheerleading ability to Charles Cubbage. Rose Mary Umphress wills her ability to get into trouble and stay that way to Marcia Potts, also her guarding ability to Connie Christy. Now let’s see whom we forgot. Oh, yes, Ralph Carter. Barbara Thompson saved the day; she wills her quietness to Ralph Carter. Thank you, Barbara. As we were taking a tour through Eldon in the year of 1974, we had to take a look at our old classmates. Just as we were going into Eldon, we decided to stop where Jack Beghtol lives, and we found that Joan Staton had married him. Jack wants to raise a big family so he won’t have to do all the chores. They have a good start with six children. Before coming into the business district, we saw a huge building. When we inquired we found that the former Ralph Saner and Wilfred Boettcher had gone into business together. They are making money by the carloads by being bosses of the BOETTCHER SANER GIRDLE FACTORY. Another classmate, Janice Chickering, is their secretary Of course, she is still married to John. As we proceeded, we found that Marvin Creech is very prosperous at the Creech Smoke House, the former Weaver Smoke House. Marvin’s beautiful blonde wife is the former 14

Bonnie Hemm, and they are very happy now we hope it lasts. We then went to the schoolhouse. It hasn't changed a bit. Bob Burns followed in his father's footsteps; he is superintendent of the place now. While we were visit- ing the classes, we saw our old classmate Melvin Ploss, who is a typing and math- ematics teacher there now. He seems happy. As we were leaving the building, a man was coming down the street, he was a detective, and as he came closer we noticed it was Jim Earhart. Jimmy has made a name for himself, as did Fearless Fosdick. We were going down the street where we noticed a beauty salon. When we inquired, we found that Carolyn Liles had gone into the business. Her motto is BLONDE BLEACHES BETTER. Rose Mary Umphress, who married while she was a Senior, of course is still married, and we have found that she is in Hollywood, and has become a famous opera singer. Of course, you remember Pat Morrow. She is a famous model now, and is on all the advertisements, the before and after's. I won’t say which she models for. We ran into Howard Lyons on the street, and he is a big ciggie manufacturer in New York, just here for a visit. You have heard of LION cigarettes. One of the smartest girls in our class, Kaye Hogue, went to college and is very successful as a housewife to Victor Sels on a farm. La Verne Fite, now a famous author, writes on marriages. His latest book is HOW TO KEEP YOUR HUSBAND HAPPY. Another one of the smartest girls in our class was Barbara Thompson. She married Johnny. He remained in the Army, and every where that Johnny goes Barbara tags along. We looked for Norman Penrod and found him playing baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies. Pat Jo and Norman got married; Pat doesn't like the profession because they can't live together. Last but not least we found Pat Noel. She married Bob H., who is sheriff of Eldon. They own a farm. Pat is deputy. By Pat Noel Class Poem The Senior Class of 1954, Who number twenty in all Have trodden the steps from floor to floor To classes and to answer roll call. We have looked forward for the day To finish our readin', writin', and ’rithmetic. And we are very happy to say The teachers spared the hickory stick. We had some talent, both girls and boys, In plays, music, and sports. We know we made a lot of noise And had to write reports. School is like everything else; You must take the bitter with the sweet. But as our years roll on, We will always remember E.H.S. can't be beat. To our teachers Farewell---- We are sorry for things we did wrong. And to our classmates and friends we tell, Success and happiness and so long, 15
