CLASS PROPHECY What will the members of the class of 5 1 be doing' in June, 1961? As I sit in a dimly lighted room looking into my crystal ball, I will predict for you their future as seen by me through this luminous globe. Delone,Wingard is now a licensed barber. He owns one of the largest shops in Pennsyl- vania. I was talking to Janice Heilman and learn- ed that she is getting married. Her husband will not have to worry about Janice talking him to death for she is as quiet and sweet as ever. Gerald Howard, a very good athlete in school, graduated from Penn State with high honors. Since his graduation from college, Gerald has been the basketball coach of his Alma Mater, Elderton High School. Who is the teacher scolding her students? Why, that is Louise Crownover. Louise is the Business teacher at Elderton High School. Oh, yes. Did you see the World Series on television? Our former classmate, Ronald Rearick, hit three home runs in this game between the Pirates and Athletics. Bernice Boyer, the seamstress of the class, is now the wife of Donald Freehling, another member of the class. Look at that handsome Forest Ranger coming down the street. That is Jim Flick- inger, the shortest boy in our class. J im is now the president of the Forest Ranger Associa- tion. Where have I seen her before? Oh, that's Velma Cribbs. Velma and Blair Bleakney, her husband, run a swanky restaurant. Donald Freehling, a good student in Alge- bra, is now Professor of Math at the Univer- sity of Pennsylvania. His wife is the former Bernice Boyer of South Bend. Pat Emert is now the wife of a dairy farmer near Kittanning. Pat is busy milking the cows and raising a family of four. She won the blue ribbon last year for being the best farm- er's wife in this country. Don Farster was never very studious. He is now the owner of a fleet of freight trucks. He lives in Chicago. Look! Who is that lady coming down the steps of that mansion? Why, that is the former Eleanor Rearick, now the wife of a millionaire oil man. Bernard Boyer, a twin in our class, made his dreams come true. Bernard is now one of the best potato growers of the state. He won the blue ribbon for raising the most potatoes per acre for this year. There is Peggy Silvis with her twin girls. She and her husband live in the residential section of Silvisville. Floyd Sheasley, the crooner of the class, has really gone places in this world. He owns a large chicken farm in Mount Union. There is Mabel Frailey. Mabel has been a pin-up since she graduated from high school. She has been crowned Miss Pin-Up for 1961 by the U. S. Army. Look at that new house on the hill overlook- ing Girty. That is the new house Roger Ellen- berger is building. Roger, a contractor in Girty, owns one of the largest building supplies de- pots in the state. Della Peterman, who attended the Carnegie School of Art, is now the Art teacher in Green Oak. She is married and president of the Artist Association of America. Blair Bleakney, who once worked as a grease monkey, now owns the new super ga- rage along Route 422. His wife, the former Velma Cribbs, is busy raising a family and working in their new garage and restaurant. Donna Smeltzer, after attending the Pitts- burgh School of Nursing, is Superintendent of Nurses at the new Smeltzer 85 Ankeny Hospi- tal at Girty. After graduation from high school, James Henderson joined the Navy. He is now sta- tioned at Great Lakes Naval Station and is the instructor of a group of WAVES. As I was coming through Girty this morn- ing, I saw the former Louise Rupert working in her flower garden. Louise has been married for nine years and is busy making a home for her husband and children. There comes the former Vivian Smith and her husband. Vivian enlisted in the WAFS after she graduated. She is married to an Air Force Major. She is the president of the Air Corps Wives Association. If you want an X-ray taken of your heart, go to the Smeltzer 85 Ankeny Hospital at Gir- ty. Luella Ankeny graduated from an X-ray school in New jersey. She is now the X-ray technician at Girty. I have taken from the crystal ball the prophecy for the class of 51 . I ask you to join me in ten years from now so you may know the truth of my prophecy. ...gg-
