Tryin' Our Actin' Excuse Me, Please! The Senior Class presented their play on November 21 and 22. Several members of the class put together their comedian abilities, dressed as hobos and clowns, and entertained the audience before the beginning of the play. Bashful Bob' Brantley was the main character. He was afraid of women. The first afternoon at Mrs. Whitson's rooming house, he saw Nancy Starling, a pretty young girl who roomed at Mrs. Whitson's. He fell head over heels in love with her that very minute. Unfortunately, he got her confused with her. room- mate. When he wrote a note asking for a date, the maid gave the note to Nancy's man-crazy roommate, Geraldine Monks. One day he went swimming. He dived into the empty pool-not noticing it was empty. As a result, he had to stay in the house for three days. Geraldine took advantage of this situation. Later when he sent for a license for his car, they made a mistake and sent him a marriage license for Geraldine and himself. He didn't know how to get out of it. He wanted to marry Nancy but instead he seemed headed down the aisle with Geraldine. Then, something happened very unexpectedly. An old friend of Geraldine, side- splitting Thaddeus Huckabee, entered the scene and asked Geraldine to marry him. She accepted him. Bob got Nancy after all.

WE'RE LARNIN' ENGLISH The first half of the term was spent studying English Litera- ture. We studied Macbeth and many other English authors. Miss Florence S. Uhrey, our English teacher, was our play director, too. Due to lack of time, we spent the last three weeks practicing in our English class.

unior Play Adam's Evening Many people still remember the play, Adam's Evening, put on by the Juniors of 51 . It was presented on March 30 and 31. Everybody seemed to enjoy it for it was the talk of the town for weeks. Adam Adams had been having an enjoyable evening while his wife was on vacation. It was so enjoyable that he stayed out until four o'clock with another woman. They got mixed up with a crazy taxi driver who was trying to kill him- self but never accomplished the task. His wife comes home unexpectedly and finds out he was out until four o'clock. He had some tall explaining to do. He told her he was in an accident in which a man was killed. Mrs. Adams sends a wreath of flowers to the dead man who is very much alive. There are some tall entangle- ments that follow, such as the crazy man comes to the Adams' home and tries to kill himself. After being unsuccessful, he explains Adam's situation to Adam's wife. Everything turned out perfectly. The play was directed by Mr. Faulkner and Mr. Brown.
