Every Elder graduate has acquired a thorough background of his religion and is well prepared to face the world of today. Our religion classes place emphasis on the spiritual as well as the material side of the student. With the menacing threat of Communism alive in all countries of the world, we are now beginning to- realize that only a country united with God can make a valiant stand against this threat to our freedom. At Elder, we learn to turn to God when beset with troubles. We have seen that the man with the strong moral fiber is better equipped to be strong in all phases of life. The Elder Welfare Association is the organiza- tion which enables the parents of the students to participate actively in providing for the better education of their children. Their keen interest through the years has been one of the major factors in the high degree of scholastic excellence which Elder has been able to achieve. In this organiza- tion, parents give that which is the hardest thing of all to giveethemselves. We, the students of Elder, wish to thank the President, Mr. William Corcoran, and all of the Officers for their untiring efforts on our behalf. 23
