ALTER Archbishop of Cj7.VlC7.VlVlClf7. The Year T960 is a year of anniversaries for His Grace. June 4th marks his 50th Anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. He begins his 30th year as Bishop June I7th. On September 26, the entire Archdiocese will celebrate with His Grace, the IOth an- niversary of his appointment as Archbishop of Cincinnati. Under the leadership of the Most Reverend Archbishop, the Church of Cincinnati has undergone phenomenal growth - in the number of Catholics, in the number of institutions to care for their spiritual welfare, and in a wealth of applications of age old truths to modern problems. Under the guidance of His Grace in the Hamilton County High School drive, Elder High School begins the soaring 60's with the best of educational facilities. It's been a great decade for the Archdiocese - we look for- ward to an even greater decade under the continued leadership of Archbishop Alter.

9 W A portion of the crowd attending dedication ceremonies in the Elder gymnasium November 22. The new wing, which represents an investment of Sl million, provides Elder with adequate facilities for l2OO students. ARCHBISHOP DEDICA TES NEW WING Civic Officials, including councilmen and Judges, representatives of the public and parochial school boards, members of the high school fund com- mittee, ioined a crowd of 2500 in dedication cere- monies of the new wing, blessed by Archbishop Alter, November 22. Ceremonies began at 3:00 P.M. with selections played by the band, followed by presentation of the flag to the school by mem- bers of the Budde Post, American Legion. Every member of City Council was present for the dedication with the exception of Mayor Clancy, an Elder Graduate, who was hospitalized with a virus infection. The new wing represents an investment of Sl,OO0,000. lt contains a cafeteria, gymnasium, science laboratories, library, and additional class- rooms. Rf., E .
