Through eXtra-curricular activities, the journalist 0f the future can be- come very familiar With the profession he wishes to pursue. Working on the staff of the school paper, tiThe Purple Quill and the yearbook the ttElder- zidof proves most advantageous in instructing him in the fundamentals of newspaper work and in increasing his enthusiasm and interest. English and history classes, too, provide him with the basic tools he needs to carry on the work of this chosen profession.
