Friendly relations exist be- tween students and faculty. . Faculty meetings are held regu- . larly to discuss school problems. HIS FAITH AND HIS DEVOTION . . . Cincinnati Council in action. to religious duties is the primary aim of the entire curriculum at Elder through its religious course. It is this religion course, Which is the integrat- ing principle making Elder a paro- chial school and not 21 public school. Its purpose is to acquaint the student more intimately With religion and to encourage greater devotion to it. Since religious principles are the foundation of Civic virtues, the stu- dent in acquiring the former, neces- sarily becomes imbued with the latter. Right ruling of society is built 011 authority and laws which are them- selves derived from the natural moral law. In the Catholic school the stu- dent not only learns to obey authority but also to appreciate the funda- mental natural moral law. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is a constant source of grace and devotion.

AND THE HELP OF THOSE WHO GUIDE HIM . . . is an everpresent factor which serves to give the student a proper under- standing of, and a right attitude to- ward, law and the enforcement there- of. This help is furnished by the Elder faculty which serves as the authority of the school and sets into operation the principles of living, through various regulations. It de- monstrates t0 the student. the practi- cal necessity of rules in school life. Specific members judge Violations and levy penalties accordingly, not with the intention of making life un- pleasant, but to secure greater happi- ness to the greater number. The stu- dent thus trained, will know how to take his place under similar condi- tions in community life. Vigilantes and Police aid, direct, and keep order.
