54m 2495an W In 1912 a new high school for boys was established in 'the school building on Warsaw Avenue just opposite St. Lawrence Church. Elder High School was the name be- stowect on the new institution in honor of Bishop Elder. Established primarily for students from St. Lawrence. Elder nevertheless soon began to attract students tram the nearby parishes. Then, a short time later girls also were admitted and the old school building became inadequate. Elder High School moved to a new building on Laclecte Avenue. Within a few years the Elder High School Asso- ciation was formed by the eleven pastors of the churches in Price Hilt anct the western district for the purpose of pro- viding a Catholic High School able to accommoctate all the parishes of the Western Hills. From this resulted the present day EHer High Schooi. erectect in 1923. 111 1927 Elder became a boys, high school again anct the girls were sent to Seton High School. From this time to the present day the faculty at Etcter has consistecl of secular priests assisted by a quota of laymen.
