Though summer turns to winter, And the present disappears, The laughter we were glad to share . Will echo through the years-- After the senior student becomes accustomed to his new role as a member of the busiest and most envied class, his thoughts turn to graduation . Four years ago that seemed more like a dream than a reality. Yes, our senior class looks back at four happy years of high school with a glowing satisfaction of what it has given to us. In hopes that you can share with us the highlights of these four memorable years, we present to you a pictorial account of what we refer to as Moments to Remember . BEGINNING AS APPRENTICES-- We, the senior class of '57, entered the halls of E.H.S. in the fall of i953 as bewildered young people, but very eager to begin our period of apprenticeship in the art of education. Everything was new and exciting. Everyone was enthusiastic. Aside from being referred to as underclassmen we were given many privileges. Among these was the opportunity to elect officers. With our advisor Mr. Nate DeLong presiding, our class elected Kay Wise-President, Sylvia Shepard-Vice-President, Richard Caldwell-Treasurer, Betty Baldriclge-Secretary, and Nelson Howard and Beverly Boyer as Student Council representatives. Sylvia Shepard and Mike Hankes made very good representatives as our King and Queen . START TO JOURNEYMEN-- Some of the newness wore off, but not the excitement. As sophomore students we soon discovered that we had gained confidence and were capable of accepting responsibilities. We proved ourselves as we presented the Freshmen-Sophomore Initiation. We chose as our officers--Vandy Bland-President, Jack Walters-Vice-President, and Phyllis Sanderson-Secretary-Treasurer. Lynda Hoepner and Douglas Samuelson were our Student Council representatives. Reigning as King and Queen we proudly presented Lynda Hoepner and Ron Mason. Mrs. Morris and Mr. Stark were our class advisors. BECOMING SKI LLED CRAFTSMEN-- Beginning to specialize in the art of education, we as a class felt a feeling of security and attained dignity which accompanies the title With qreat anxiety of what our iunior ear would have in store for ' - , Y we eagerly began our activities. For our class officers we elected Beverly Boyer-President, Jack Walters Vice-President, and Sylvia Shepard-Secretary-Treasurer. Kay Wise and Douglas Samuelson were our Studen-t Council representatives. For the glorious Homecoming court, it was Kay Wise and Fred Faber as King and Queen . With Mr. Peterson and Miss Kain as our class advisors we set a record for E.H.S our magnificent total for the magazine drive. With pockets full we began our plans for our Dance known by all as the Winter Whirl . For the next point of activity we presented in the Moonlight , the Senior Prom. Yes, it was the year we shall never forget. ARTISTS SO TURNED TO GRADUATION-- , we realized our school days at E.H.S. our Commencement to the Adult Age. Howard-Vice-President, and Joyce the senior class on the chose Rex Wolf and Phyllis of the Troian
