19 :.::-::- :-::-::-: Zhe Hoqnef :-::-zz-: :-::-:ze 57 Our Teachers JR. AND SR. HIGH SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES CHARLES R. ARMSTRONG graduated from Oakland City High School in 1941. He attended Oakland City College for two years before entering the Marine Corps for four years. During his service years he attended Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, for one year. He returned to Oakland City College after receiving his discharge from the Marine Corps, and received his B. S. in Education in 1947. He taught three years in Pine Village Consolidated Schools, Pine Village, Indiana, before returning to college where he earned a license in Elementary Education. He returned to teaching in 1950 at Wadesville High School, where he coached high school baseball and grade and Fresh- man basketball for three years. He has taught at Elberfeld for the past three years. HOME ECONOMICS AND BIOLOGY RUBY BERTRAM graduated from Elberfeld High School in 1927. She attended Purdue University for two years. After transferring, was graduated from Indiana State, Terre Haute, Indiana, in 1932 with a B. S. Degree. Mrs. Bertram has taught sixteen and one-half years in the Elberfeld High School. COMMERCE AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION ERVIN DEE WHITEHEAD graduated from Mackey High School in 1947. After graduation, two years were spent in Uncle Sam's Navy. Then in 1948 he enrolled at Oakland City College and received his A. B. Degree in the Summer of 1951. Work is now being taken by extension from Indiana State Teacher's College, at Oakland City College to apply on his Masters. Mr. Whitehead has taught two years at Millersburgh, three years at Selvin, and one at Elberfeld. MATHEMATICS CHARLES ROBERT HEILMAN graduated from Millersburgh High School in 1952. He enrolled in Evansville College in September of 1952. In June of 1956 Mr. Heilman received the B. A. Degree from Evansville College. Soon after graduation he accepted his first teaching position at Elberfeld High School for the school year 1956-57. 19 :-::-::-::- :-::-: Zhe -Hoqnef :-::-: :az-: Our Teachers ENGLISH AND LATIN CLARA HEBBELER graduated from Mackey High School. She received an A. B. Degree from Oakland City College in 1931 and later at- tended Indiana University. This is her second year at Elberfeld after having taught 24 years in the Mackey High School. MUSIC AND HEALTH RUTH WANDA SIEBE graduated from Richmond High School in 1925. In 1929 she graduated with honors from Earlham College in Rich- mond, Indiana, receiving the A. B. Degree. Later she did a year's grad- uate work at Indiana State Teacher's College and Indiana University. She taught at DeLand, Illinois for two years. She taught at Otwell for four years, and at Ireland for four years. She taught at Holland for seventeen years. This is her first year at Elberfeld High School. DENNIS E. TYRING graduated from Spurgeon High School in 1928. In 1933 he graduated from Oakland City College with an A. B. De- gree. Later he attended Indiana State Teachers College and completed the required work for an Industrial Arts license. In 1947 he graduated from Indiana University with an M. S. Degree. Mr. Tyring has taught school for fifteen years, eight of which he has served as principal. His teaching career began at Spurgeon, where he taught for two years. He then taught at Millersburgh High School for two years. Then he taught at Petersburg High School for one year. Then he served three years in the United States Air Force. At the close of the war, he returned to Millersburgh and taught six more years, five of which he was principal. For the next three years he served as principal at Follsomville. This is his second year as principal of the Elberfeld High Schoo.
