Sophomore Class History We began our Freshman year of 1950 with twenty-one students. They were: Rose Barnett, Lowell Bethe, Jerry Bugg, Mildred Butcher, Larry Clemons, Tom Derrington, Audrey Durham, Adrain Gwaltney, Arlene Halwes, John Hammel, Richard Johns, fRuth Ann Kuhlenschmidt, Sarah Mae Lockhart, Jackie Nicholson, Bob Oster, Kenneth Parton, Harriet Peach, Arlie Reed, Shirley Ann Thene, Gayle Williams and Carolyn Zehner. During the year we lost four members. Audrey Durham, who quit school, Jerry Bugg and Harriet Peach, who moved to Evansville and are now attending Bosse, and Rose Barnett, who is now attending Central. We began our Sophomore year of 1951 with nineteen students. They are: Lowell Bethe, Jerry Bugg, Mildred Butcher, Larry Clemons, Tom Derrington, Gerald Farny, Adrain Gwaltney, Arlene Halwes, John Hammel, Ruth Ann Kuhlenschmidt, Jewell Lee, Sara Mae Lockhart, Jackie Nicholson, Bob Oster, Kenneth Parton, Shirley Ann Thene, Robert Thomas, Gayle Williams and Carolyn Zehner. We have four new students. They were: Jerry Bugg, who moved back to Evansville, to attend Reitz, Jewell Lee, who moved back to Kentucky and Kenneth Parton, who is now attending Reitz, Freshmen Class History The Green Freshies entered the halls of E. H. S. September 5, 1951. A new member has been added to the class. Logan Kolle moved to Elberfeld from Millersburg. The class is composed of twenty-one mem- bers. They are: Faye Butcher, Harold Cleveland, Bill Cutteridge, Doral Daubs, Dallas Flener, Jackie Harrie, Lois Houghton, Logan Kolle, Norma Kolle, Richard Lochmueller, Clarice Lockhart, Margaret Mabrey, Russel Menke, Floyd Miller, Dallas Peck, Jeanette Seitz, Alfred Tapper, Carol Thene, Carol Taylor, Ralph Walker and Betty Welborn.

Junior Class History We entered E. H. S. September 6, 1949 with fourteen Green Freshies . They were: Angella Aigner, Janice Kost, Donnie Thene, Nigra Lea Roberts, Bonnie Whitsell, Sharon Poiles, Gilbert Humphrey, Edward Kiegel, Doris Skelton, Darrell Skelton, Roy Voyles, Eugene Wheaton, Clenneth Besing and Warren Roettger. We received one new student, James Cheshire, who came to us from Memorial. During the year we lost one member, Gilbert Humphrey, who moved to Evansville, and is now attending Central. We started to school September 3, 1950, with fourteen Silly Sophomores . They were: Angella Aigner, Janice Kost, Donnie Thene, Sharon Poiles, Bonnie Whitsell, Nigra Lea Roberts, Edward Kiegel, Doris Skelton, Darrell Skelton, 'Roy Voyles, Eugene Wheaton, Clenneth Besing, James Cheshire and Warren Roettger. We received one new member, Bonnilee Besing, from Central. We received our class rings this year. This, our Junior year, we have thirteen students. We lost Warren Roettger, who quit. The activities of this year were: the class play, The Ready Made Family , the magazine sales and the Junior and Senior Ban- quet. We also received our blue and gray class sweaters. Junior Class Play The Junior class gave their play, A Ready Made Family , in the school gym, on the night of October 30, 1951. Their sponsor was Mr. Martin Blesch. NOVEMBER 1 - Otwell defeated Elberfeld 59 -41. 4 - Seniors got day off to get Annual ads. 7 - Elberfeld defeated Tennyson 51 -43. 7 - Sophomores received class rings. 9 - Elberfeld ran over Millersburg 67 - 31. 13 - NO SCHOOL. 13 - Elberfeld won over Decker Chapel by a small margin 37 - 34 15 - Had individual pictures taken. 16 -- Doris Walkerfs 17th Birthday. 20 - Lynnville won over Elberfeld 50 - 44. 22 - Thanksgiving Vacation. 23 - Thanksgiving Vacation. 27 - Glee Club went to Boonville to participate in a program. 30 - Mackey won over Elberfeld by a small margin 37 - 35. DECEMBER 7 - Lincoln defeated Elberfeld 50-32. 10 - Juniors received class sweaters. 11 - Lynnville and Griffin ball game at Elberfeld, Lynnville 63 - Griffin 35. 12 - Poseyville won over Elberfeld 49 - 44. 16 - Sharon Deneke's 17th Birthday. 18 -- Individual pictures came in. 18 - Senior pictures came in. 19 - Richland beat Elberfeld 58 - 49. 21 - Haubstadt overcame Elberfeld 58-48. tContinued on next pagej
