BACCALAUREATE The Baccalaureate services were held in the Zions Evangelical and Reformed Church, on May 4, 1952. The speaker was Rev. A. A. Susott. COMMENCEMENT The Commencement Exercises were held in the school gymnasium on May 8, 1952. The speaker was Dr. Mearl P. -Culver. The awards were given for the best scholar in high school and for the best sportsmanship in basketball.

Mr. Cain without a grin on his face. Mr. Ahrens teaching a driving trainer course at E. H. S. Mr. Kifer not talking about a better school. Mrs. Ketcham without an idea in her head. Mrs. Holtz not talking on the phone. All the teachers being perfectly satisfied with their students Ronald Oster with a new Dodge. James Anderson not being serious. Barbara Holmes not talking about her feller. Doris Walker not making straight A's. Sharon Trible not being full of meanness. Dewey Colbert acting like he had a brain in his head. James Miller not driving like Barney Oldfield. Barbara Arendell not talking about boys. Dolores Niederhaus without Gilbert. Gerald Thene not delivering the newspaper. Donald Sellers not playing basketball. Gyneath Gwaltney with short hair. Clyde Stratman not going with Rosemary. Eddie McDaniel not being engaged. Jess Butcher with a bald head. Eugene Green not talking to Norma Jean. Class Song of '52 fTune of Slowpokeb We kept the teachers waiting 'Till they got aggravated We were slowpokes. They taught and scolded, But it never seemed to molded In our brains, here. Why should they keep trying to change us, It wasn't the thing to do, Cause we were just naturally slowpokes, too. Junior Class History We entered E. H. S. September 6, 1949 with fourteen Green Freshies . They were: Angella Aigner, Janice Kost, Donnie Thene, Nigra Lea Roberts, Bonnie Whitsell, Sharon Poiles, Gilbert Humphrey, Edward Kiegel, Doris Skelton, Darrell Skelton, Roy Voyles, Eugene Wheaton, Clenneth Besing and Warren Roettger. We received one new student, James Cheshire, who came to us from Memorial. During the year we lost one member, Gilbert Humphrey, who moved to Evansville, and is now attending Central. We started to school September 3, 1950, with fourteen Silly Sophomores . They were: Angella Aigner, Janice Kost, Donnie Thene, Sharon Poiles, Bonnie Whitsell, Nigra Lea Roberts, Edward Kiegel, Doris Skelton, Darrell Skelton, 'Roy Voyles, Eugene Wheaton, Clenneth Besing, James Cheshire and Warren Roettger. We received one new member, Bonnilee Besing, from Central. We received our class rings this year. This, our Junior year, we have thirteen students. We lost Warren Roettger, who quit. The activities of this year were: the class play, The Ready Made Family , the magazine sales and the Junior and Senior Ban- quet. We also received our blue and gray class sweaters. Junior Class Play The Junior class gave their play, A Ready Made Family , in the school gym, on the night of October 30, 1951. Their sponsor was Mr. Martin Blesch.
