FACULTY N TE William gg Qakgg graduated from Mackey High School in 1921, He attended Oakland City College, Indiana State Teachers College and returned to Oakland City College where he received the A. B. Degree in 1927 and the B. S. Ed. Degree in 1928. He receivedthe A. M. Degree from Indiana University in 1955 and did a year of graduate work on a Ph. D. Degree at Indiana University since then. He also did one summer!s work on a Ph. D. Degree Leland Stanford University. Mr. Baker has taught for 20 years. He began his teaching career in Gibson County, his home county, after which he served as assistant principal and basketball coach at Bowling Green Clndianal High School for two years and principal for one year, He was principal of the Alamo High School CMontgomery Countyifor six years, principal at Kingman kFountain County! one year after which he returned to Montgomery County and served as principals! the Linden High School for two years. He decided then to return to his native county and served as principal of the Ft. Branch High School for three years. He also served as visiting in- structor in the Graduate School of Education at Indiana State Teachers College for four conservative summers. This is Mr. Baker's first year as principal of the Elberfeld High School. Latin and English Martin Blesch graduated from Elberfeld High School in 1922. He graduated from Oakland City College ln 1955 with a B. S. Degree. He has done all his teaching in Greer Township. This is his 2Oth year of teaching. He has coached the grade team and high school team during his teaching career. Music and Commercial Elinqg-Dgggy-graduated from Elberfeld High School in 1941, She received her A. B. Muscial Education Degree from North Central College, Naperville, Illinois, in 1945. She has taught at Elberfeld for the last four years. Home Ec. Qgglce Sghgltg- graduated from Stendal High School in 1937. She attended Evansville College and graduated in 1941, rec- eiving an A. B. Degree. This is her eighth year of teaching, the preceding six being at Huntlngburg High School. She at- tended Indiana University last summer. Mannual Training and Sth Grade N 'QLi:l.b-grlg Kifer graduated from Elberfeld High School ilililmn He attended the Central Normal College at Danville, Indiana for one year. He received his B. S. Civics EgL'Qauby graduated from Enfield Community High School, En- field, Illinois, in 1925. He received his A. B. Degree from Southern Illinois University in 1929, and received his B. S. Degree in 1932. In 1935 he attended Old Post Coaching School. Mr. Dauby has taught for seventeen years, ten years in Illinois two years as official in C. C. C. work, one year in Grandview, Ind. four years in Cannelton, Ind. one year at Orleans, Ind. and one year in Elberfeld. This is Mr. Dauby's first year of coach- ing at Elberfeld. Phy. Ed. and 7th d Sth Grade Ruby Bertram graduated from Elberfeld High School in 1927. She attended Rurdue University for 2 years. After transferring she graduated from Indiana State Teachers College, Terre Haute, Indiana in 1952 with a B. S. Degree. Mrs. Bertram had pre- viously taught 15 years in the Elberfeld High School before starting again at the beginning of the second semester of this year. The main event of the evening was the crowning of the basketball queen and king, Virginia Engelhardt and Don Harri S o Commencement The Commencement Exercises were held in the school gym' nasium, on May 6, 1949. The speaker was Mr. E. A. Richardson fB1g Riohl. The awards were given for the best scholar in high school and for the best sportmenship in basketball. Baccalaureate The Baccalaureate Services were held in the Zions -. Evan- gelical and Reform Church on May 1, 1949. The speaker was Rev. C. W. Walmer. Junior and Senior Banquet The Junior and Senior Banquet was held on April 29, 1949, at the Vendome Hotel in the Empire Room at Evansville.
