The week of Homecoming ’87 was filled with fun and excitement for the students and faculty. The cheerleaders kept the spirit alive by sponsoring “dress-up” days during the week. Following the Coronation at two o’clock on Friday afternoon, parade entries wound through downtown Elba. The Queen’s float, constructed by the seniors, was the highlight of the parade while the sophomores claimed first place in senior high float competition. The Elba Tigers soundly defeated the Louisville Red Devils 48-6 on the grid-iron, and the dance following the game climaxed a week of everlasting memories.
