The week of October 3, 1986, was filled with fun and excitement as the student body of Elba High School joined together in making Homecoming ’86 a memorable event. Spirit soared throughout the campus as students participated in various events ranging from the tradi- tional “50’s” day to toga day. The cheerleaders sponsored the annual bonfire held Thursday night as Elba fans cheered the mighty Tigers. The week climaxed as the coronation was held for this year’s Homecoming Queen, Miss Paula Adkins. Paula was attended by Misses Stephanie Crittenden, Stacey Galimore, Whitney Wise, Shelia Nelson, and Bridgett Rogers. Paula was crowned by Kevin Killingsworth, president of the senior class. Activities of the day included a pep rally and an after- noon parade which featured the queen and her court and EHS Class of ’56. The week’s agenda concluded as the Elba Tigers claimed victory when they defeated Clayton 41-6. A homecoming dance ended a week of hard work, but the memories of Homecoming ’86 will be treasured by all those who participated.
