e Superintendent 4 essage “The only thing more expensive than education is ignorance. This school year has broughtus an increase in enrollment, in facili- ties, in equipment, and in faculty. These make for a better school pro- gram. I challenge you to take every advantage of the environmental in- fluence offered in Elba High School to develop the art of successful living. Let me admonish you to be mind- ful of the fact that we are privileged to live under a form of government that makes us a free people. In this age we are engaged in a battle of the minds--the outcome of which will de- termine the duration of our freedom. In that connection, I quote from Mira- beau Lamar; An enlightened citizen- ship is the guardian Angel of Democra- cy.
