DEDICATION Our 1947 Revue is dedicated to Mrs. Helen Kirsch, instructor and librarian of Elba Central School for the past fourteen years. Mrs. Kirsch, first knovsm to Elba students as Miss Walters, was born in Auburn and after attend- ing a training class in Skaneateles taught in a rural school for three years. She then attended Geneseo Sgt? Normal School and came to Elba in the fall of She taught in the grades and also had charge of the library. After centralization her work as librar- ian became more complicated. Through her untiring efforts and efficiency she has built up the fine li- brary we have today. Mrs. Kirsch has organized the Library Club which consists of girls from the seventh and eighth grades, who learn some of the fundamentals of li- brary work and are able to assist her in many ways. Behind her quiet and reserved manner, there is to be found a sympathy and a willingness to help any student needing assistance whether it be the selec- tion of a proper book or the location of certain ref- erence material. 2
