EIGHTH GRADE In September we entered through the doors of the 8th grade room, wondering what was in store for us. We found that We were able to look ahead to many events. In December we held our Christmas party. Two trees were con- tributed by Eric Brown and jacques Hill, and the class decorated them. We had refreshments and exchanged gifts. The 8th grade girls put on an Operetta in january which was very successful. At a later date it was repeated for the Gran Th ' 1 , ge. e gir s also have a good basketball team and have won most of their games. Earlier in the year the 8th grade boys played Alexander and won The h y ave an excellent team and are looking forward to a better one.in the years to come. Our class has financed its activities this year by paying dues. We added twelve dollars to our treasury by having a bingo game when the Cole Circus played at our school. This year is the first year we have regents examinations and every- one is looking forward to passing. We wish to thank Mrs. Strouts for the help and service that h h s e as given us all during this happy and successful year. The class officers are as follows: f President. . . .... . . . . . . David Iakaub Audrey Iohnson with honors in the magazine sale last fall. Paul Our grade ran away Ter Haar was the champion salesman ln both class and individual sales. Audrey Johnson became Elba Central School spelling champion to carry on the laurels of Grade 7A. Grade 7's basketball team in the Iunior-Y league at Batavia has reached the finals to date. We hold class meetings every month to keep on our toes and carry out student council legislation. Our social activities have been few this year but in spite of the small start this year we are headed for bigger and better things in the future. The Class of 1952 will be the biggest and best in the history of E. C. S. 21
