That is an ideal for which nations struggle. ln last year's election returns, the honors were evenly divided between the Democans and the Republicrats. Our stu- dent council believes in representing the entire student body fairly and squarely. lt endeavors, therefore, to maintain activities of all kinds. This democratic spirit was born five years ago under the direction of Mr. Hugh W. Vanderhoot, Principal. Today, student council appropriates money tor all athletic events, appoints athletic managers, plans Play Day in June, approves the staffs of the two publica- tions, The Revue and the Campus Crier , as well as sponsors a magazine contest, a maga- zine contest party, the sale of pop and ice cream at athletic events, and has organized a patrol system to care for traffic. A committee of student council members was chosen to direct assembly programs. Jane Bonney is chairman, and her assistants are Dorothy Day, Paul Zambito, and Ronald Reiss. Faculty advisors are Mr. Urion, Mr. Spaulding, and Miss England. ll, to
