LIBRARY CLUB The Library Club was established by Mr. Talbot, the librarian, in September 1935. The otlicers are: Presidem' .... Genevieve Ess Vice President . Lina Calarco Secretary . Diana Wetterhahn Treasurer . .... Pauline Zanibito Reporter ...... Viola Kirkpatrick The other ineinbers are Cordelia Post, Genevieve Pelz, Phillippa Zanibito and Charlotte Andrews. Each nicinber olfliciates over the Lib- rary one period each day and helps students find references. The Club also catalogued new books. DB-AMATIC CLUB The Drainatic Club was organized this year. The oliicers are as follows: President-Ehna Burr, Vice President-Jean Boyceg Secre- tary-Cordelia Postg Treasurer-lVihna Burr. The club consists of 13 nieinbers. A constitution has been drawn up, one-act play presented and a scrapbook made. HOBBY CLUB The Hobby Club was organized under Mr. Talbot. It ineets on Wednesday' at 11:20. The members have inade pins, book ends, brace- lets and other novelties. The niernbers are: Rita Crane Jean Boyce lVihna Nutting Beulah Eichler lVilma Brayley Janet Schuler Dorothy Crane Ruth Grice Mary Tretter SPEAKING CONTESTS The Girls' Speaking Contest of Elba was held April 15th in the High School Auditorium. Eleven girls took part. These girls were Virginia Dash, Marguerite Dorf, Genevieve Pelz, Pauline Zainbito, Lois Chapell, Helen lVigton, Madolyn Hackett, Genevieve Ess, lViln1a Burr, Lina Calarco and Viola Kirkpatrick. The first prize of 5155.00 was given to Virginia Dash and the second prize of 5152.50 was given to Madolyn Hackett. The Boys' Speaking Contest of Elba was held April 22nd in the High School Auditorium. Seven boys took part. These boys were Amsden Howland, Leonard Burr, Carlton Hundredinark, Darwin Clark, Duane Porter, Robert Vlligton and lVilliani Covington. First prize was given to Leonard Burr and second prize to Ainsden Howland. OCTETTE The Girls' Octette was organized with Diana Vlletterhahn, Helen Vlfigton, Phyllis Berglin, Virginia Dash, Jean Boyce, Genevieve Ess, Madolyn Hackett and Viola Kirkpatrick. Tweniy-sc ven.
