The initiation party was a great event.' Some of us, I know, will not forget it. During this first year five mem- bers of the class left Ela. '44 - '45 Upon returning to school our second year, there were only'seventeen of us. However, Gene Wendt joined the Navy, and George Simpson left us. There were a few more members added to our class: Grace and Maybelle McGlasson from New jer- sey: Lon Kaminski from Lane Tech.: Nancy Rae Er- ickson from California: James Hardenbergh from Niles Township High School: and Floyd Hutchings from Libertyville. '45 - '46 Coming back to school our third year, we were considered upperclassmen, Juniors. The names of Joyce Noerenberg and Luella Obenauf were added to the class roll. In the middle of the year Ruth Copelin transferred from Auburn High School. and Ed Reid came from New Trier. We presented the three-act play 'Star Crazy' which was a great success. On May 18, the most important event of the year, the Junior-Senior Prom was held at our own 'Waldorf Astoria jr. ijb '- -21 .V I V . X, s'? ' T if? T' Y' -.-- I . S is . Much of our time was taken up with studies, work on the Elyte, club and committee activities, and plans for commencement. Two new members were added to our class: Adele Avent from Akron, Ohio and Dawn Osborne from Highland Park, left school to take a place Amid farewells we in the world .
