They learned not only the background and historical importance of the country, but also the language. They conjugated verbs and practiced accents and wrote sentences in French. They joined Spanish classes for the performance of Cyrano de Bergerac and the television filming of Split Second . Faced with deadlines every three weeks, 12 students strove to get layouts completed and copy written.
