Bottom: Roc McNaughton steps in as drum major. bwgb 4 K d 's wie' For every home football game there was a Marching Band Although the band members complained and griped about all the practices, they enjoyed the fun and companionship found in such a large, active group. A small pep band usually played at all away games which added to the school spirit. The band had a chance to compare themselves with bands from other schools in several band reviews throughout the year. They sold stadium cushions to help raise money for trips and other band activities. All agreed that the marching Eagles added much to our student life.

You are mad, said Alice to the rabbit, and it was a Mad-Hatter's Ball! Tumbling into the Alice in Wonderland at the Hacienda Hotel South Starlite Room on October 30th were over 220 students to enjoy the 1971 Homecoming Coronation. Sponsored by the Golden Eagle Annual Staff, this year's Coronation was another big success. Barbara Albinus and her committees labored hard and long to provide the entire student body with a Wonderful Wonderland and an evening to remember. Music was by the Colridge Taylor band. Climaxing the evening was the crowning ofthe 1971 Homecoming King and Queen-Mike .lellison and Betty Young!
