john Dowd john says that school is a central, but not dominating activity in his life. He likes to keep his intellec- tual activities well balanced in such a way that permits no one activity to overshadow others. With this in mind, john is head- ed fora very successful future. Bruno Fornerone Bruno has been an active member of many clubs in High School. He is plan- ning a College Education at Berkley or Cal. Tech. Where he will major in Electrical Engineering. Bruno is hoping to get his American Citizenship soon. 5.4 K eshs'top ' Mary Lytle Mary is a transfer from Whitstone High School in Columbus, Ohio. She is an active member of many Clubs here at El Segundo. She is planning her Col- lege Education at Cal. State, Domiquez Hills. 16 few Ella jolly Ella is very active in school and has participated in many f X clubs. She enjoys such things A 1 as Ballet, Modern Dance, Piano and Guitar. Ella is plan- ning on attending college, but is still unsure of what col- lege she will attend. She is hoping for a future in Ap- plied Mathematics. .. , Nw f' f f ' .. He would like to attend Loyola University in L.A. and major in Latin American Studies or Political Science. He would like to work in a Foreign Service or Teach.

BILL PELZMANN Bill was selected as El Segundo's Top Sci- ence Student and has served as Biology Club Vice President. He is planning to major in Environmental Design and Master in City Planning at Berkely. He hopes to enter the Peace Corps after if college. scholars MIKE STIVERS Mike, who is the Senior Delegate in Key Club, is planning a career in the field of Medicine or Psychology. He will be attending University of Califor- nia at Berkley. MIKE FAHY Mike is very active at El Segundo High. He served as Key Club Presi- dent and is a member of numerous clubs. Mike plans to be a lawyer. 17 ,tg 0 iovcf RASDALL joyce is working as a Can- dy Striper, and hopes to continue with this type of work in college, She is planning to attend Pep- perdine College where she will major in Educa- tion. She would like to become a teacher. joyce has shown her interest in Education in that she has been in the California Scholarship Federation A every semester in high j school, an outstanding 33 record for an outstanding M I? younglady. 5 These nine students entered El Segundo to learn and to develop their minds into ma- ture and helpful tools for their future life. Each has succeeded in his own field. Each has proved to their fellow class- mates that if one listens and tries his best, he can succeed in life. These scholars of El Segundo are ready to serve society. Each will look back on high school as a helpful learning experi- ence. El Segundo High School is proud of 1970's Top Nine!
