The Whirlwind The Whirlwind, our Junior College weekly, has completed its second year as an independent publication. Previous to the fall of 1924, it was a part of the Tatler under the heading Black and VVhite. During the past year there have been Freshman and Sophomore issues, Sheik and Sheba contests, a special six page Thanksgiving number,,and a Christmas number in two colors. A Sport sheet for athletics, with George Chapman and Pauline Burn as Editors, was start- ed during the winter term. The Editorial and Letter column have been the cause of several very interesting controversies. Between Lectures, Here 'n There, the Ah Hal column, and Among the Exclusive- zoo, are regular features. Ivluch of the success of the paper during the current year has. be-en due to the efficient management of its editor who has perfected a systematic plan for gathering news. His paper has consistently retained its value as a news ' paper in spite of the periodical slumps common to all colleges. The acceptance of the Whirlwind as second class matter by the mails demonstrates Sis never flagging interest and continuous efforts in behalf of the paper. In ddition to this, he has inaugurated a practical system for news editing and managing. By this plan, five managing editors alternating weekly assume responsi- bility for the edition.
