I feel greatly honored by this privilege,' said Homecoming Queen, Laura Baca. Laura and lady-in-waiting, Melanie Rob- berts, along with the classification duch- esses and sweethearts were all presented at the morning assembly held October 21 The 61st homecoming festivities were carefully planned by homecoming com- mittee chairman Karen Tovar. Student Council Members adorned the gym and halls in orange and black creating a fes- tive motiff. The year's Outstanding Ex was Mr. Toby Tovar owner of Tovar's Flower Shop and a graduate of the class of 1928. TU 'Time Stands Still For No Man' Some girls wore the sweaters with dressy pantsuits or jeans and tie-up shoes known as 'espa- drilles.' Espadrilles are cloth shoes with long colorful laces which wrap around the ankles and calves. Recreation-wise, three old but popular games experienced a re- surgence this year. Skateboard- ing, fooseball, and backgammon proved once again to be popular comebacks for high school stu- dents.
