Varsity In many respects the Comets had a successful season this year. They were able to break a long losing streak. The entire team showed excellent spirit throughout the season and gave each one of its opponents a good game. Most important of all they were able to gain the respect of their opponents and coaches by their aggressive play. The Comets had ten returning lettermen at the opening of the season, five of whom were seniors. Coach Poling, in his first year as high school basketball coach, was able to develop some reserves who were very valuable to the team.
