STUDENT COUNCIL 1st row: Everett, Volz, Brines, Schofield, 0 Connor, Duncan, Malcolm, 0 Connor 2nd row: Gordon, Taylor, Noe, sponsor. The Student Council was organized for the fourth consecutive year, with Mr. Noe as adviser and the following officers: Clayton Schofield, president; Widd Brines, vice-president; Helen Jo O'Connor, secretary-treasurer. The activities of the Council during the school term began with the sponsoring of the annual homecoming dance. In this way the members secured enough money to enable them to attend the district and state Student Council Conventions. The district convention was held at Morris, Illinois, and a delegation of six attended. John Malcom was elected District President for the coming year and Alta Duncan, Secretary-Treasurer. The district convention next year will be held in El Paso. A delegation of five attended the state corwention held in the Congress Hotel, Chicago, in late April, Another activity of the Council was the purchasing of a defense bond for the school. The group consists of ten members: John Everett and Don Gordon, freshmen; John Malcom and Tinker O'Connor, sophomores; John Taylor, Eloise Volz, and Alta Duncan, juniors; and Widd Brines, Helen Jo O'Connor, and Clayton Schofield, U seniors
