PAPER STAFF While other clubs and classes were being organized, the staff of the 1942 Reporter got their assignments. Selected to lead the future Kalten-born's, Thomas's and Gabriel Heater s in their quest for news of activities within the walls of ETKA was Leonora Altum as editor-in-chief. Serving as her chief helper came Bill Eastman as assistant editor. Clayton Schofield kept us informed of what was happening in the athletics of the school. No one's secrets were safe from the joke editors Nohren and Volz. Joan Barnard and Bob Fruin were selected as feature editors. Each class and organization selected a reporter as follows: Seniors,Leila Stot-ler; Juniors, Elouse Volz; Sophomores, Gene Steffen; Freshmen, Joan Cleary; Pep Club, Leonora Altum; G.A.A., Patricia Smith; F.F.A., John Taylor;Home Economics, Helen Epps. Typists were Mary Helen Jones, Helen Epps; Helen Jo O'Connor, Leila Stotler, and Gladys Alt. The beginning of the second semester found Gladys Alt moving into the edotors chair with new feature editors Schofield and Smith. Typists dwindled to three or four. Whenever the latest issue was off the mimeograph, there was a rush to the commercial room for copies. The editor and staff hope you enjoyed them. COMETEER STAFF The year 1941-42 will go down as a big one for the yearbook of E.T.H.S. Late in 1941 the staff conducted a school contest to choose a permanent name for the book. Bob Gordon, submitted the name chosen as the best by the yearbook committee. Heading the staff of seniors giving you this an-ual was Leila Stotler, editor-in-chief,with her assistant,Mary Helen Jones. As financiers of the project came Clayton Scr.ofield, business nanager, with his crew: Wid Brines, Wayne Zehr, and Gladys Alt, bookkeeper. Naomi Crawford was the girl responsible for organizing and assembling materials collected.Helen Jo O'Connor found being club editor no small job. Joan Barnard and Helen Epps took care of the social calendar while Leonora Altum was busy asking everyone for snapshots and pictures. Calvin Rippel can tell you there was plenty of activity in the sports' realm. At least it took him sometime to get everything organized, and those deadlines do have a way of slipping up. 27
