JUNE MAD' The Juniors presented their annual play on the night of December 18, 1941 •The play was a rollicking canedy centering around the adolescent lives of Penny Wood (Eloise Vols),and Chuck Harris (Bob Gordon), next door neighbors They were ably supported by these other members in the casts Mrs Wood (Joanna Bailey)j Rimer Tuttle (Harold Sparks) the hired man; Dr Wood (John Taylor);Bffie,the maid (Margaret Hodgson);Hilly Lou (Patricia Smith); G Merryn Roberts (Bob PTuin); Roger Van Vleolc (Bill Eastman); Mr Harris (Harman Panther); Julie Harris (Alberta Nohren); Shirley Wentworth (Louise Parkhouse); Ralph Wentworth (Bob Ffculfc) The stage managers were Arthur Martin, Harry Pierce,and Junior Gauger MINSTREL SHOW On November 18th, the F. F. A., Band and Mixed Chorus colaborated in staging a Minstrel show. The F. F. A. provided the actors while the Band and Chorus took care of the musical numbers. The performance was a tremendous success with considerable hidden talent being uncovered. The end men were Dick Tipler, Maurice Quiram, John Malcom and John Taylor. The inter-locker was Clayton Schofield. Mr. Noe assisted in directing the speaking parts while Miss Toohill and Mr. Stubblefield ably coached the vocal and instrumental selections. 23

FIXERS N UIXBRS The Hone Economics Club of 1941-1942 started the club with an impressive candlelight servioe with Paulita Nortn as head candle This service ushered new members into the club Miss Virginia Miles was our noble adviser, and for the heavy burden of having an active club, Charlotte prese was elected President, with the following officers to aid hen Helen Reeves, Vice-President; Shirley Gibbs, Secretary-Treasurer| and Doris Barney, Club Reporter The highlight of the club year was being hostess to the District Rally Day in November Among the Firing was the scrapbook made by the club The main activities of the club were the parties of the F. F A and the Home Economics Clubs and the annual Mother and Daughter banquet, which wound up the successful year F F A. The F F A began the year with election of officers as follows Pres i-ident, Clayton Schofield;Vice-President, Maurice Quiram; Treasurer,Dick Tip-ler; Secretary, John Mai con; Reporter, John Taylor; and Wat oh Dog, Simon 01 toon The first activity was the F F A Minstrel Sheer whioh, with the help of the band and ohorus, was quite successfully presented The boys attended the National Corn Husking Contest at Tonioa,Illinois the National Farm Youth Day at Peoria, and the International Livestock Shear at Chicago As their part in National Defense, the F. F A members co-operatively obtained a garden tractor to help in the Victory Garden campaign The boys have also repaired and adjusted various farm implements for the farmers of this vicinity 25
