Uth row: Bohlander, Sands, Stimpert, Freese, Bailey, Potter, Rutledge, Potter, Miller. The Junior year found all our class members ready and willing to do their share to help raise money for the Junior class. We sold sandwiches and candy at the football games and had a candy booth at the basketball games. We gave an excellent class play entitles June Mad which brought to the surface much hidden talent. We also sponsored Ralph Pierce, the magician, in his show of magic and mysticism learned while a boy in the Orient. Our Prom was the highlight of the year for both ourselves and our guests, the seniors. Officers responsible for guiding the class through the year were: President,Jonn Taylor; Vice-President,Ross Connelly; Secretary, Alberta Nohren. Mr. Noe, Mr. McLane, and Miss Miles served as our advisers. 15

M xine Neal has saved enough money from her Hash stand to pay her income tax, now all she has to do is borrow some to live on. Wid Brines is still serving detentions for a certain teacher. Frances Whitmer is a clerk selling dog collars which guarantee them a new lease on life. Ward Barron and Wayne Zehr are publishing new books and their latest one is Physics and How to Like It. Elaine Bohlander now has world renown by living up to her theme song, I Had Someone Else Before I Had You. ffill she get her man or will one ever catch her? Gladys Alt, Paulita North and Elmyra Swann are three old maids and live in a house with closed shutters, have a black cat and go to the barn dance every Saturday night; still hoping. We read the other day that Clayton Schofield, a daily patron of the V right Restaurant, always has his coffee black; and he has an arrangement with the management, whereby, at the end of each month he gets a quart of cream free. Eldon Koopman, conductor of El Paso's Sympathy Orchestra, was playing golf and not doing so well. In annoyance, he turned to his caddie, Dick Tipler, and asked, Can you tell me what's the matter? Tipler's diagnosis was immediate, Mister, you ain't got rhythmj Mary Kathryn Williamson, well noted publisher, has just released Ruth Oltman's latest book on How To Come Out of a Twirl Successfully.

SOPHOLORE CLASS HISTORY In September, 1942, forty-three sophomores enrolled at the high school John Malcom was elected president of the class; Leslie Hibbs, vice-president. Bill Kilpatrick, secretary; Tinker O'Connor, carrying over fror. last ysar, as Student Council Representative. Miss Toohill, Miss Espevik, and Mr. Stubblefield became the class sponsors. Later in the year two sophomores dropped out of school, but in the second semester two more Joined the class. The sophomores have been active in the music department, on the athletic squads, one as a cheerleader, and in the various clubs. 16
