JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY In September, 1938, the class of '42, f1fty e1ght 1nexper1enced and slightly green Freshmen, stormed the gates of 'Ye Olde El Paso High.' After a thorom h v1ew of the s1tuation, the 101 lowing class ofpxcers were chosen to p11ot them through the y ar Pres1dent, W1d Brlnes, Vice President, Elaine Bohlanderg Secretary treasurer, Homer tlark, Student Counc1l Representatlve, Clayton Schofield. M138 Henderson and Mr. Snyder were thelr advlsers and counseled them from t1me to time durmng the year. The 'get-acqua1nted' party was 1n the form of a welner roast. The 'day of reckoning' passed without mishap and it was soon vacatmon t1m6q Durmng the year Lloyd Kingdon moved to Watseka. The nsophlsticated sophs' returned the next fall and snaxfed w1th d1sda1n at the lowly Fresh men. Officers for the year were: Pres1dent, Clayton Schofleld, Vice Presldent, W1d Brlnesg Secretary treasurer, H mer Clarkg Student COUnC11 Representatlve, Helen Jo O'Connor. M1ss Toohill and Mr. Sampen were chosen as BdV1S6FSs In the course of the year a box SOC1A1 was held and engoyed by all. Three members of the class left nn the persons of Ke1th hlting who moved to Washburn, and Fern Lock and Lois Powers who transferred to hormal Communlty. As thla year concludes the Juniors are lookmng forward to the Prom and to next year. Three new members were added to the class: Ada Radcllff, Alvxn Jakob, and Florence Stortz. The officers were: President, W1d Brines, Vice President, Junior Keehma, Secretary treasurer, Homer Clarkg Student Council Representat1ves, Clayton Schoxield and helen Jo O'Connor. The adrisers were Mr. Classen, Mr. Noe, and Miss Smith. The Junlor play 'Sk1dding,' was success- fully enacted and the picture 'Land of L1berty' was sponsored at the El Paso Theater. Eva Jane Pinkham, Wid Brines, Gladys Alt, Elaine Bohlander, Frances Whltmer, Dick Kilpatrick SKIDDING Directed by Clarence Noe On Friday, December thirteenth, the Junior Class of nineteen forty presented Sk1dding, a three act comedy play The Hardy family of this play was the subject for all Hardy Family motion pictures llarion Hardy lGladye Altl, daughter of Judge Hardy fC1ayton Schofield! and Mrs Hardy Ullaine Bohlanderl, is a college girl who falls in love with Wayne Trenton Ullid Brinesl just as a career is opening up for her. Then there are the two pretty young daughters, Myra KF:-ences Whitmerl and Este1leKHelen Epps! who chose to marry before they finished their education and now want to come home to Mother at the first trouble. Andy Hardy lLyle Reetzkel is an adorable, adolescent child with his first case. Grandpa Hardy KD1ck Kilpatrickltouches the heart with his absent mindedness and reminiscences. Oscar Stubbins lEldon Koopnanl is the Judge'e campaign manager. Aunt Milly KEva Jane Pinkhanl, a sister of lrs. Hardy, stays at the Hardy house. Stage managers were Dick Tipler and Calvin Rippel. lr.
