The new classes available to students are Science Fiction, Literature of the Horror and the Supernatural, Mythology, Linguistics, Bible Literature, Folklore, Short Story, Creative Writing, Adolescence and thc Novel, and Vocabulary Development. These new classes were available to sophomores, juniors, and to seniors while freshmen were still required to take English their first year. 1n picture 1, the bulletin board pretty well explains what kind of stories students read in some ofthe new classes. Mr. McDaniels is one of the teachers who teach the new courses. He teaches such classes as Science Fiction and Literature of the Horror and the Supernatural as he is doing in picture 2. In picture 3, students in Mr. Witt's Short Story class are acting out a play about the author Jesse Stuart. Janet Powell, Deb- bie Negus, and Judy Coleman are acting out a skit in a panel on vampires that they had in Literature of the Horror and the Supernatural in picture 4. Along with the new literature classes available to students this year, they were also allowed to take foreign language classes such as Spanish and French 1 and 2. Mrs. Allison was the Spanish teacher this year. Picture 5 shows Miss Septak who teaches French as well as Junior High math. The Spanish club is shown in picture 6. The 21 students who were members of Quill club are shown in picture 7. Debbie Perkins, Quill club president, is shown leading discussion in a quill club meeting in picture 8. Many pictures of famous authors appeared on Mr. Wittis wall as one can see in picture 9.
